Les Racquet (pronounced, “Less Racket”), a trio with a style as unique as their name, has quite an exciting weekend ahead of them here in New England. On Friday, they will be playing at WZLY radio studio in Wellesley, MA at noon. On Saturday they will be at The Middle East Club in Cambridge, Ma for a show with Jamie Kent And The Options and Dressed For The Occasion at 8pm. Finally, following their back to back gigs, we are pleased to announce that Les Racquet will then be in the Unregular Radio studios Sunday at 6pm, on our very own LobstaNaut Radio Show!![]()

Les Racquet is a multi talented “do it yourself” indie rock trio currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. Coming fresh off an extensive tour of the dirty south, the band is back in the Northeast, including Massachusetts, to see family and friends and play a few gigs in New England.

Made up of three very talented musicians and singers; Kenny Murphy on bass, Daniel Malone on drums and Patrick Carroll on the guitar, Les Racquet brilliantly combines their musical capabilities with three way vocal harmonies to create a truly original sound.
Although one can say that the foundation for their style is rooted in indie & alternative rock, after listening to both of their diverse records, it is clear that Les Racquet also pulls influence from ska, folk, blues rock and jazz to create uncategorical music for listeners with a wide variety of tastes. This originality in the band’s musical creation process, fused with their combined vocal talents and apparent chemistry, make for an impressive portfolio of tunes and a creation of high anticipation amongst fans for their future projects.

If you are not familiar with Les Racquet then you need to do some homework. Here are a few of my favorites (in no particular order) that will help you get acclimated : Chimney Pete, Oh Yeah!, Kids @ War, Ambulance, Bruce Li (sick instrumental), I Know you. These are just a few of their tracks, and are pulled off of both albums; “Les Racquet” & “Be Water, My Friend”.
These guys are on the up and up, their work ethic, style, musical ability and desire to spread their musical ingenuity with the rest of the world is sure to make them a widely known and admired band very soon. Support Les Racquet by purchasing their music and spreading the word. Tune into WZLY radio Friday at noon, and if you are free, definitely go see them live at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, MA on Saturday at 8pm. No matter what you do, you definitely have to tune into our show on Sunday where you can hear each of them talk about the band, their past, their future and maybe even give a little taste of Les Racquet unplugged.
